What should we check for a one-way campervan hire from Melbourne to Sydney?

Allow enough days for a coastal route and a few two-night bases. Confirm the Sydney return branch and hours before booking your onward flight.

Check which roads and ferries the rental contract permits, and whether the van fits the campsites you want. Reserve peak-date sites alongside the vehicle.

Compare the total cost including one-way fee, insurance excess, mileage, equipment and campground charges. The daily rate alone can be misleading.
