Reasons to Choose Yamamoto Udon

Why CBD noodle lovers choose Yamamoto Udon for fresh artisanal craftsmanship and rapid dining

  • Dual Handmade Noodle Styles

Diners can choose between two distinct daily preparations: silky flat Himokawa cut wide in limited daily batches, and bouncy square-cut Sanuki noodles.

They roll out two styles — the classic bouncy square-cut Sanuki and the ultra-wide, silk-smooth Himokawa .

  • Artisanal Chew and Balanced Broth

Both dipping sets and hot noodle bowls deliver traditional texture and rich house dashi tsuyu reminiscent of local dining in Japan.

The star of the meal was undoubtedly the Himokawa udon; the texture and chew was absolute perfection! Paired with a rich dashi tsuyu, delicate spring onions, wasabi, and fresh ginger, every bite was beautifully balanced.

  • Under-Five-Minute Table Fulfillment

Digital table ordering paired with fast kitchen turnaround gets full hot noodle meals delivered to tables in mere minutes.

Order using your device at the table, but within 30 seconds of placing the order I had my drink in front of me, and less than 3 minutes we had our whole meals in front of us, which were both extremely tasty.

  • Efficient Dining for City Errands

A central Bourke Street setup allows busy Melbourne workers and shoppers to enjoy a satisfying, high-grade Japanese meal with minimal turnaround.

The service was great. The food was super delicious. There was really less wait time which is always good when you’re hungry.

  • Destination-Worthy Spot for Visitors

Serving authentic flat Himokawa noodles that mirror viral Tokyo trends makes it an easy recommendation when introducing out-of-town guests to Japanese dining.

These wide udon noodles are hard to find outside of Japan but they’re done so well here! Suuuuper tasty with a satisfying chew. The cold noodles are to die for. I also enjoyed the carbonara udon although it was slightly too rich. Great spot overall though. I always take friends from out of town here!

  • Generous Sharing Portions

Generous bowls, substantial sets, and shareable tempura plates leave parties feeling thoroughly satisfied at accessible CBD price points.

The portion sizes were very generous, had we known this we probably would've ordered less, we left feeling very full but no regrets! Will definitely be back again!
