Book NowAbout Alasya Restaurant
Alasya is a vintage Sydney Road staple serving bottomless warm Turkish bread alongside massive platters of charcoal-grilled meats. The dining room feels frozen in time, pairing an active front bakery counter with an unapologetic retro dining setup. Tables fill quickly with sprawling meat banquets, stuffed dolmades, and plates of hot capsicum and cacik dips. Stacks of oven-fresh pide keep arriving for dipping until you run out of room. Takeaway containers are almost inevitable once the grilled sis kebabs, lamb cutlets, and honeyed baklava hit the table.
- Bottomless Turkish bread: Warm, oven-fresh loaves keep landing at the table for dipping, available bottomless for dine-in guests.
- Sprawling feast banquets: Hefty shared spreads bundle charcoal-grilled kebabs, traditional dips, salads, and dolmades with enough left over for tomorrow.
- Vintage bakery atmosphere: Unchanged retro decor blends an active front production bakery with unpretentious diner seating.

Why Dine at Alasya Restaurant
Why locals and groups choose Alasya Restaurant on Sydney Road
Abundant banquet spreads built for hearty feasts
Platters and banquets deliver overflowing spreads of grilled kebabs, sides, and appetizers that regularly leave diners with full takeaway boxes.
We got the Meat Lovers banquet and it was way too much food. We couldn’t have dessert so we had to take it away along with the leftover meat.
K Gim Affordable large-scale dining
Group dining delivers exceptional bang for buck, easily feeding large parties with mains, sides, and bread at cheap rates.
Prices were astonishingly cheap for the amount of food we had, so much so that we took a lot home.
Rebecca Jane Unlimited freshly baked warm Turkish bread
Dine-in guests enjoy warm, freshly baked loaves kept continuously replenished to accompany spreads of homemade dips.
Kebab meat, home made dips (beetroot dip was a stand out!) and unlimited warm and crispy Turkish bread… what’s not to love??
Helen Echter Authentic Turkish bakery-diner atmosphere
The dining experience feels preserved from the 1970s, coupling an operational bakery atmosphere with classic diner charm.
The experience is very authentic, like a big turkish bakery that serves hot food — a kind of place very usual in Turkey.
Juliana & Fernando Koch Nostalgic time-capsule character
A timeless, unpretentious dining environment that evokes comforting memories and remains true to its heritage.
This place is a treasure and the decor is the same as when the doors opened which is so nostalgic and awesome.
Lizzie I Heartwarming comfort food and peace of mind
Hearty, comforting dishes and generous portions provide deep home-cooked satisfaction with plenty of leftovers.
We got the banquet, it was heaps of food so we took a lot of it home. So comforting and generous.
