Why choose Madame Saigon

Fast, budget-friendly Vietnamese classics and dedicated vegan options on Brunswick Street.

  • Affordable fast-casual pricing on Brunswick Street

Fresh banh mi and generous rice bowls priced around $10 to $11 offer exceptional value on Brunswick Street without long wait times.

And for $11 it's hard to beat value like that. 100% will be coming back if I'm in the area and hungry for a sandwich that doesn't cost $20 like the rest of the delis surrounding this store.

  • Quick turnaround without street queues

Orders are prepared rapidly and arrive hot, avoiding the long queues typically found at other popular sandwich spots across town.

The food is quick, delicious and cheap - who says you can't have all three! And if anyone complains that it's not very "Vietnamese" I think maybe they need to go to Vietnam. Oh and the bahn mi is 9.5/10 if you want a quick and easy lunch (and you don't need to line up down the street like some other places on the other side of town)!

  • House-made vegan pâté and mayonnaise

Plant-based diners receive complete traditional flavours through in-house vegan mayonnaise and vegan pâté paired with crispy tofu and mushroom fillings.

Best Banh Mi in Melb for both vegans and non vegans. The vegan special is amazing, must try. They even have vegan Mayo and pate!

  • Thoughtful plant-based substitutes without compromise

Rather than simply omitting standard condiments, plant-based banh mi options feature seasoned crispy mushrooms and tofu tailored specifically for vegan diners.

A lot of the time when you order a vegan bahn mi, it's just missing all the good stuff with no replacements. Where this bahn mi hits the way it should with nothing lacking.

  • Casual daytime pit stop while shopping

Front outdoor sidewalk tables offer a relaxed setting for family-friendly stops while browsing local shops and markets along Brunswick Street.

It worked perfectly as a casual pit stop during the day. While I probably would not travel to Fitzroy specifically for this restaurant, I would definitely return next time I am in the area.

Sidewalk dining and rapid service provide an easy, convenient spot to recharge before continuing weekend outings or daytime retail trips.

Highly recommend this place as a good way to refuel before a 2nd round of shopping
