Why Diners Choose Meetbowl
Why South Melbourne diners choose Meetbowl for authentic Indonesian noodles
Signature Dry Bakmi with Side Broth
Meetbowl serves regional dry noodles like Bakmi Bangka alongside a separate bowl of clear broth and sauce pooled at the base of the bowl.
These were ‘dry’ noodles but it came with a yummy sauce that pooled at the bottom of the bowl. The noodles were perfectly chewy and they were generous with the side ingredients (egg, pork, pork crackle, meat balls). Rich clear broth served on the side.
Koi Regional Curly Mie Siantar Specialty
Dishes feature specialized regional Indonesian styles like Mie Siantar, prized for its distinctive curly texture and authentic toppings.
The texture of the noodle is simply unique - its curly and thats what make it special, on top of the generous topping of meat and crackers.

A Y (Win) Bakmi Yamien
The noodles had a great texture, though the mince wasn’t very potent — I definitely had to add some of the condiments from the bench to bring out more flavour. Still, I’d recommend eating it without mixing in the broth so the noodles keep their bite.
Christopher Wu Bakmi Bangka
The noodles were perfectly chewy and they were generous with the side ingredients (egg, pork, pork crackle, meat balls). Rich clear broth served on the side.

Before you head over
Helpful advice on timing your visit, enjoying dry noodles, and ordering regional street sides.
Plan Around Peak Lunch Hours
Lines form quickly during weekend rushes and peak midday hours; aim for an early or late lunch or arrive right at opening to secure a seat without a long wait.
Sip the Broth and Season to Taste
Dry noodle bowls arrive with house seasoning and a separate side of clear broth; sample the noodles first before mixing in soup, and customize using tabletop condiments.
Look for Street Snacks and Weekend Specials
Indonesian snacks like crispy batagor and bakso goreng are popular accompaniments, and the special Nasi Campur is served exclusively on weekends.
