Regulars head straight for The Big Thief—a sesame-topped homage to a classic fast-food burger served with its own side of burger sauce. The kitchen holds its own across the board, folding chunky chicken into Thai red curry and wrapping spiced pork and fennel in flaky pastry. Rotating bakes bring weekly drops like truffle mac and cheese, backed by dialed-in espresso and outside tables along the footpath.

    The pastry was pretty well baked, top sides and base, all of a similar thickness. The lid was nice and flakey and had a slight crunch to it when you bit into it.
