About Armstrong Barbecue

Mount Duneed gets a genuine slice of Lone Star barbecue—smoked over wood and sliced right across the carving block. Meats here take up to 30 hours in the offset pits, yielding Black Angus brisket with dark, peppery bark alongside fork-tender beef cheeks and snappy house sausage. Diners run the ordering line canteen-style, calling out cuts—lean or fatty—directly to the pit crew before trays fill out with mac and cheese, tangy pickles, and sweet cornbread. The hangar-like space carries serious country-western flavor with live tunes, a mechanical bull, and open fire pits outside where kids roast complimentary marshmallows.

  • Carved to order at the block: Guests step straight to the carving counter to pick custom cuts—lean or fatty—sliced directly onto butcher-paper trays.
  • Central Texas-style pit smoked meats: Long-smoked Black Angus brisket, fall-apart beef cheeks, ribs, and house sausage join scratch-made mac and cheese and cornbread.
  • Outdoor fire pits & marshmallows: An open-air dining tent features glowing fire pits with complimentary marshmallows for toasting after shared platters.

  • Authentic 30-Hour Low-and-Slow Smoking

Meats undergo up to 30 hours of wood smoking to achieve melt-in-the-mouth tenderness across Black Angus brisket, beef cheeks, pulled pork, and sausage links.

The 30-hour smoking/cooking process is no joke—the meat was so tender it literally melted in our mouths.
