About Hafez

Tucked along Bridge Road, Hafez delivers a genuine taste of Tehran with slow-cooked stews, charred skewers, and warm hospitality. The room feels like an intimate gallery—lined with intricate Persian tiles, cultural wall paintings, and ornate art that draw eyes between courses. Regulars make a beeline for the Dizi Sangi, a rich lamb stew delivered in a hot stone pot and ritually decanted table-side before the meat and chickpeas get pounded. Shared platters pile high with juicy koobideh kebabs, grilled tomatoes, and mounds of saffron rice, while slow-braised Baghali Polo Ba Mahiche falls tenderly off the shank alongside fragrant dill and fava beans. A pot of Persian tea alongside house-made baklava wraps up the feast.

  • Table-side Dizi Sangi: Rich lamb, chickpeas, and broth served in a stone pot and poured table-side to eat the traditional way.
  • Art gallery atmosphere: Walls lined with Iranian paintings, decorative tiles, and cultural artwork create an inviting gallery feel.
  • Baghali Polo Ba Mahiche: Fork-tender braised lamb shank paired with fragrant fava bean and dill rice.
