Book NowAbout JDV MARKET
JDV Market trades standard Prahran coffee hustle for a calm enclave of artisan ceramics and quiet tea rituals. Part lifestyle showroom, part Japanese-style counter—the room smells faintly of warm incense and roasted tea. Design hunters drop by for tactile shokki tableware and leave holding cups of Bench coffee or thick, hand-whisked matcha. Regulars point to the rear stools for a slow recharge, often met with unexpected tea pours from the counter. The move is the black sesame purin, pairing a dense, nutty paste with a bitter-sweet caramel syrup settled right at the base.
- Curated Homewares: Shelves lined with tactile ceramics, kitchenware, and scent diffusers beside the counter.
- Whisked Matcha & Hojicha: Rich, velvety matcha lattes and roasted hojicha poured alongside Bench coffee beans.
- Black Sesame Purin: Custard pudding layered with rich, nutty paste over a balanced base syrup.
- Zen Atmosphere: Calm, incense-scented back seating with warm tea samples and unhurried hospitality.

francesca troxell Signature Purin Dessert Menu
JDV Market pairs lifestyle retail with artisan Japanese custard purin in classic caramel and black sesame.
The sesame aroma was deep, and the pudding itself was sweet in a gentle way, without being cloying.

Matcha Latte
easily the best matcha latte I’ve had in Melbourne. Very rich flavour with a smooth velvety texture.
E L Joie de Vivre Signature Drink
The signature 'Joie De Vivre' drink is a blend of cold brew pineapple sencha tea and cold brew coffee topped with matcha cream foam. The drink was nice and refreshing with an initial pineapple fragrance followed by a crisp and mellow earthy taste from the sencha, with the only sweetness coming from the light matcha cream foam.
Barry Black Sesame Purin
I tried the black sesame purin and matcha latte. The purin, priced at $13.5, was quite pricey, but I enjoyed the texture and black sesame paste. It didn’t taste too sweet as the syrup was at the base layer.
Y T Hojicha Latte
If you’re looking for something special, I highly recommend its Hojicha Latte. It has a beautifully roasted aroma with a smooth, nutty flavor that’s both comforting and refined. The balance between the earthy hojicha and the creamy milk is just perfect not too sweet, just rich and satisfying.
