About The Hellenic House Project

Highett gets an unpretentious Greek tavern pulsing with genuine philoxenia and generous feasts. The kitchen turns out warm, fluffy pita dragged through pale taramasalata alongside golden prawn kataifi wrapped in shredded pastry. Purists might do a double take at the hot chips layered straight into the souvlaki, but the juicy seasoned lamb wrap wins them over fast. Meals drift easily from bubbling saganaki to slow-cooked lamb shoulder across the casual downstairs counter, the sunlit backyard, and the upstairs dining room. It wraps up over terracotta pots of fresh-baked galaktoboureko—with house-made wine flowing and packaged stacks of that flatbread ready at the counter for home.

  • House-Made Staples: Warm flatbread baked on-site—sold packaged to take home—alongside house-made wines.
  • Generous Souvlaki & Mezze: Seasoned lamb and chicken wraps packed with hot chips, served alongside prawn kataifi and bubbling saganaki.
  • Multi-Space Dining: Split-level setup featuring a casual downstairs open kitchen, airy upstairs room, and sunny backyard courtyard.

We ate downstairs because we absolutely had to have the grain salad but can’t wait to go a little bit more extravagant upstairs soon too!
