About Brae Restaurant

Food travellers treat the Otways drive as a pilgrimage for Dan Hunter’s three-hatted lunch—a single daily service that stretches through the afternoon without table turns. Mid-meal, you stroll the working orchard with a drink in hand. Plates track what the acreage yields at dawn: garden salads tossed with fresh leaves, Murray cod in butter sauce, and a nostalgic 'half time orange' dessert. Overnighters grab an on-site suite to spin vinyl over evening supper plates, then wake to farm views and warm morning pastries.

  • Farm-Grown Degustation: Multi-course tasting menus driven by the on-site organic harvest, featuring produce-led dishes, Murray cod in butter sauce, and the signature 'half time orange'.
  • On-Site Country Suites: Luxury guest accommodation featuring farm views, in-room turntable setups, evening supper tasting plates, and morning pastry delivery.
  • Unhurried Single Seating: A single daily lunch session without table turnover limits, leaving ample time to wander the working gardens mid-meal.

There is no timeimit to your lunch as only 1 session for the day. The staff are exceptional to the point our taxi refused to come so Brae arranged another one and on top of that gave us free bubbles

We flew all the way down from the Gold Coast just to experience Brae – originally being from Melbourne, we’d been wanting to visit for years, especially after Covid interrupted our plans. It was absolutely worth the wait.
